Engine flies out of car in horrific head-on collision caught on dashcam

A horrific head-on crash has been captured on camera in Melbourne’s east.

Bayswater Mitre 10 Facebook page shared a dashcam video of the crash on the Warburton Highway on Monday.

The video, shot by a camera in an eight-tonne crane truck, shows a white and a black car travelling ahead of the truck.

As the cars come to a bend on the damp road a silver car coming from the opposite direction smashes into the first car before spinning and hitting the second one.

The collision sends the silver car’s engine flying out and over the railing while the black car’s rear left tyre gets ripped off.

Debris is left strewn across the road.

Amazingly, no one was seriously injured.

Video of the incredible scene has been viewed more than 177,000 times.

Bayswater Mitre 10 claimed the crane driver, a man named “Big Dave” who filmed the collision, helped those in the crash.

One woman wrote in the comments on the post that she was driving the white car with her son in the passenger seat.

“Thanks to Dave and everyone who helped,” she wrote.

Others who watched the video were in awe that everyone was OK.

“Holy f*** so glad the people from the other cars were OK,” one woman wrote.

Another woman added it’s “lucky no one was killed”.

Earlier this week, a P-plater was condemned for pulling in front of a truck travelling at high speed.

Another crash in January in Sydney was more divisive after two cars crashed while one of them was attempting a right turn.
