Emily Ratajkowski breaks down the ‘really embarrassing’ time she met Beyoncé at the Met Gala

On Watch What Happens Live Thursday, Emily Ratajkowski stopped by and ended up discussing how her entire approach to attending the famous Met Gala has changed. And it’s all thanks to a chance encounter she had at the event a couple years with Beyoncé Knowles.

After host Andy Cohen read a viewer-submitted question asking who Ratajkowski was most excited to meet at this year’s Met Gala event, held back in September, it prompted the model and actress to look back on a lesson she learned after meeting Beyonce a couple years ago.

Ratajkowski said she was chatting with Solange Knowles, Beyoncé’s sister, when the meeting happened.

“I totally embarrassed myself,” Ratajkowski said of the encounter. “I was like, ‘no man has done what you have done with Lemonade.’ I had had like a little bit of champagne and I just decided to go for it and it was wrong.

And it sounds like Ratajkowski, who has been receiving high praise for her new essay collection called My Body, would give the “really embarrassing” words she shared with Beyoncé, a negative review. In fact, it has changed the way she attends the event.

“She was so nice of course because she's used to people losing their minds, but I've never lived it down, or recovered,” Ratajkowski said. “I just keep it together now at the Met. I'm like, ‘it's all right, we don't have to say hi to that person. We'll be fine.’”
