Qld police arrest gunman on Sunshine Coast

A gunman who threatened a woman during an altercation on the Sunshine Coast has been cornered at a unit block and arrested by police.

The 22-year-old gunman made the threats at a Rosewood Street address in Caloundra West around 8am on Friday before fleeing on foot.

Police tracked the man to a unit block in Caloundra where heavily armed police swarmed the area just after noon.

The man was arrested in the driveway as he tried to escape and is assisting with police inquiries.

An emergency declaration for an area bounded by Queen Street, Bowman Road, the Esplanade and Edmund Street has been revoked.
