Elderly woman killed in SA crash

An elderly woman has died and another two people have been hurt in a crash in South Australia's Barossa Valley region.

The 81-year-old Salisbury woman died at the scene after two cars collided at an intersection in Shea-Oak Log, north of Gawler, on Tuesday morning.

Two other people were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

It is the first death on South Australia's roads for the year, compared to four fatalities at the same time last year.
