Elderly woman hurt in NSW home invasion

An elderly woman has been attacked during a home invasion in Bomaderry on the NSW south coast.

An elderly woman was shoved to the ground during a terrifying home invasion.

The 88-year-old woman was woken by strange sounds in her Bomaderry home on the NSW south coast about 4.30am on Saturday morning.

She went to investigate and found a window open.

She was confronted in the hallway of the house by a man who pushed her to the ground and ransacked the home.

The woman managed to activate a personal alarm around her neck, causing the house alarm to go off and the intruder fled.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene for minor grazes to her right leg.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a large build.

He was wearing dark clothing and a black balaclava.
