Elderly Vic speedster suspended six months

An elderly man has lost his licence for six months after being caught driving at 125km/h in an 80 zone in Victoria's east.

The 73-year-old Churchill man was nabbed by police just before 10pm on Sunday on the Princess Highway at Traralgon.

As well as the suspension, he was given a penalty notice for $661 and lost six demerit points.

The intercept is part of Operation Regal, a state-wide focus on keeping the community safe over the long weekend and into Monday.
