The offender then stole the cards and spent $9000 on four new iPhones at a Malvern East store and another store in Chadstone later that same afternoon.

He also tried to buy $4500 worth of electronics at another Chadstone store, however, this transaction was declined.

The offender also tried to take out money using the 94-year-old’s cards at ATM’s on High Street in Ashburton and Hamilton Place in Mount Waverley.

Police released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries, and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
