Elderly man finds crude message from shop worker on winning lottery ticket

A grandfather has received a rude shock after he went in to claim his modest lottery winnings at a petrol station.

Stacey Kinge said her elderly grandfather had walked into Crondall SF Connect in Hampshire on Wednesday to see if his lucky numbers had paid off.

While it was far from the jackpot, that wasn’t going to stop him claiming his £3 ($A5.50) worth of winnings.

It wasn’t until he inspected his receipt that he discovered the word c**t printed in the reference section.

A furious Ms Kinge took to Twitter to reveal her shock.

“[My] elderly grandfather visited your garage yesterday and this is unacceptable,” she wrote in the tweet addressed to Marks and Spencer.

The official Twitter account for the Marks and Spencer, who own the service station, responded promptly saying they would be investigating the matter.

“Oh my goodness, Stacey - this is unacceptable and thanks for bringing it to our attention,” the response read.

“We'll get the details over to the Store Manager to look into straight away! We're so sorry!”
