Elderly man dies after Melbourne crash

An elderly man has died 10 days after being struck by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Melbourne's northwest.

The 80-year-old from Essendon was taken to hospital after the crash at Moonee Ponds on June 16 and died on Tuesday, police said.

The driver involved, a 42-year-old man from Gowanbrae, stopped at the scene to help.
