Ed Sheeran shares 'really bad' performance from when he was 14 years old

As the Knockouts continued on The Voice Tuesday, Kelly Clarkson kept the teen singers together as she pitted 13-year-old Hailey Mia against the Cunningham sisters, 14-year old Marie and 15-year-old Macie.

The young singers may have been slightly intimidated during rehearsals standing opposite Clarkson and this season's mega-mentor Ed Sheeran, but the latter knew just how to put them at ease.

"I couldn’t even sing in tune 'til I was about 16. I’m going to show you some of these things, because no one ever believes me," shared Sheeran, who then pulled out his phone with a video of him at 14-years-old singing completely out of tune.

While four-time Grammy award-winning artist Ed Sheeran may be one of the greatest singer-songwriters today, the incriminating video revealed he didn't always have the skills to be part of the A-Team.

"That's me at 14, not being able to sing in tune. Yeah, it's really bad," admitted Sheeran. He added, "Kids always go, 'Oh, you have to be born with natural talent,' and I'm like, 'No, you don't.'"

While Clarkson and the girls could not stop laughing over the video, the point of the hilarious and honest reveal was to teach one simple lesson.

"I'm telling you, you can achieve anything in this world," said Sheeran. "You can achieve anything. My point is I learnt and learnt and learnt and experienced, and then I now have a career. You guys are way further ahead than I was."

ED SHEERAN: My point is I learnt, and learnt, and learnt, and experienced. And then I now have a career. You guys are way further ahead than I was.
