Easter trading hours 2022: Woolworths, Coles, Kmart and more revealed

With the Easter just around the corner, Aussies are beginning to stock up on chocolate eggs, hot cross buns, seafood and other household items to see them through their holiday celebrations.

As with any public holiday, the Easter long weekend will mean that some retailers are changing their trading hours, while others may close altogether.

Yahoo News has compiled a guide for large-scale variety stores, liquor stores and other major retailers by state and day, to help ensure you can plan your Easter celebrations without a hitch.

Good Friday - April 15, 2022

Woolworths

  • All Woolworths stores across Australia are scheduled to close on Good Friday.

  • Customers can check their local store on Woolworths’ store locator for confirmation of individual hours.

Coles

  • All Coles stores across NSW, QLD, VIC, NT, TAS and the ACT will be closed on Good Friday.

  • SA: All stores will be closed closed except Mount Barker, Murray Bridge Green, and Victor Harbor who will be trading from 8am-8pm

  • WA: All stores will be closed except Vasse, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, Eaton Fair, Busselton Central, and Bunbury who are trading standard hours from 8am-6pm.

  • Customers can check individual store times by visiting Coles’ store webpage.

Kmart

  • All Kmart stores are scheduled to close over Good Friday

  • Customers can check individual store times by visiting Kmart’s stores website

Target

  • All Target stores across NSW, QLD, ACT, TAS, SA, NT and WA will be closed on Good Friday.

  • VIC: All stores will be closed with the exception of the Melbourne CBD and Packenham stores, which will be open from 9am - 7pm.

  • Customers can check their local store's trading hours on the Target store site.

Best&Less

  • All stores will be closed on Good Friday.

Other stores

  • All Bunnings stores will be closed on Good Friday.

  • All Dan Murphy’s stores will be closed on Good Friday

  • Most BWS stores will be closed on Good Friday, although some drive-thrus will be available in SA and VIC. More information can be found on the BWS website.

  • All Big W stores will be closed.

  • Customers are advised to check their local stores via store locator pages online.

  • All Westfields will be closed on Good Friday.

Easter Saturday - April 16, 2022

Woolworths

  • All Woolworths stores in WA, SA, NT and TAS will be open on Easter Saturday.

  • NSW, ACT, VIC & QLD: All Woolworths stores will be open, and most Metro stores will be open.

Coles

  • All Coles stores in VIC, TAS, SA, ACT and WA will be trading standard hours on Easter Saturday.

  • NSW: All stores will be open, with some on limited hours.

  • QLD: All stores will be open, and are scheduled to open according to public holiday hours.

  • NT: All stores will be trading from 8am - 8pm, with the exception of Alice Springs, which will be open from 8am - 9pm.

Kmart

  • NSW: All stores are open for trade with the exception of Lismore. Waratah will be open from 7am, all other stores will be opening between 8am and 9am. All 24 hours stores will be closing at midnight.

  • ACT: All stores will be open for trade from 8am.

  • QLD: All stores will be open from 9am, except for Bowen, Charters Towers, Ayr, Roma, Mount Isa, and Cairns Central who will be open from 8am. Toombul will be closed.

  • VIC: All 24 hour trade stores remaining open 24hrs. Most other stores are open between 8am - 9am, with the exception of Brandon Park which will be closed.

  • SA: All stores will be open from 8am, except for Berri and Port Augusta which open at 9am.

  • NT: All stores will be open from 8am.

  • WA: Eaton Fair will be open form 7am - midnight. All other stores will be open from 8am.

  • TAS: All Kmart stores will open from 8am

Target

  • NSW: All stores are opening from 8am, except Goulburn, Griffith, Lithgow, McArthur Square, Glenquarie, Wollongong, and Narellan who are opening from 9am. Closing times vary.

  • ACT: Canberra Civic will be open from 9am - 6pm, Belconnen is trading from 8.30am - 6pm, and Tuggeranong is trading from 8am - 6pm.

  • QLD: All Target stores in Queensland are open from 8am, except for the following which open at 9am: Runaway Bay, Buranda, Springwood, Robina, Browns Plains, Toowoomba, Helensvale, Ipswich, Mount Ommaney, Indooroopilly, Mount Gravatt, Pac Fair, Orion, Redbank Plains and Coomera.

  • VIC, NT & TAS: All stores will be open from 9am.

  • SA: Raynella will be open from 8am, and all other stores will be open from 9am - 5pm.

  • WA: All stores will be open from 8am - 5pm.

Westfield

  • NSW: Westfield Kotara, Tuggerah, Eastgardens, Hornsby, Liverpool, Mt Druitt, Penrith and Warringah will trade from 9am-5pm. Westfield Burwood, Chatswood, Miranda and Parramatta will trade from 9am-6pm. Westfield Bondi Junction and Hurstville will trade from 9.30am-6pm. Westfield Sydney and Sydney Central Plaza will trade from 9.30am-7pm.

  • ACT: Westfield Belconnen and Woden will trade from 9am-5pm.

  • QLD: Westfield North Lakes, Garden City, Carindale, Chermside, Coomera and Helensvale will trade from 9am-5pm.

  • VIC: Westfield Airport West, Fountain Gate, Geelong, Knox, Plenty Valley and Southland will trade from 9am-5pm. Westfield Doncaster will trade from 9am-6pm.

  • SA: Westfield Marion, Tea Tree Plaza and West Lakes will trade from 9am-5pm.

  • WA: Westfield Booragoon, Carousel, Innaloo and Whitford City will trade from 9am-5pm.

Best&Less

  • NSW: All stores open, except Lismore and Wetherill Park.

  • ACT, QLD, VIC, SA, NT, WA & TAS: All stores open.

Other stores

  • All Bunnings stores will be trading on Easter Saturday.

Easter Sunday - April 17, 2022

Woolworths

  • NSW & ACT: Most stores will be closed.

  • QLD: All stores will be open, except for Ayr, Blackwater, Bowen, Charters Towers, Childers, Chinchilla, Kingaroy, Mission Beach, Mount Isa, Pittsworth, Proserpine, Roma, Weipa which are closed.

  • VIC: All stores will be open, except for Moama which will be closed.

  • NT & SA: All stores will be open.

  • WA: Esperance will be closed, and all other stores will be open.

  • TAS: All stores are scheduled to be open.

Coles

  • All ACT, TAS and WA stores will be trading standard hours.

  • NSW: All Sydney Metro stores will be closed, Regional/resort stores will be open.

  • QLD: Ayr, Goondiwindi and Mount Isa will be closed. All other stores will be trading standard hours.

  • VIC: All stores will be trading standard hours, except for Croydon North and Little Knox who will be closed.

  • NT: All stores will be trading from 8am - 8pm, with Alice Springs trading from 8am - 9pm.

  • SA: All Adelaide Metro stores will be closed. CBD stores will be open from 11am - 5pm, and regional stores will be open from 8am - 8pm.

Kmart

  • NSW: Goulburn, Griffith, Bowral, Forster South, Gorokan, Salamander Bay, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Toomina, Nowra, Batemans Bay, Shellharbour, Bega, Ulladulla, Bateau Bay, Woy Woy, Erina, Bathurst, Katoomba open between 8am & 10am. All other stores will be closed.

  • ACT: All stores will be open from 8am - 8pm.

  • QLD: Most stores open from 9am. Toombul, Bowen, Charters Towers, Ayr, Roma, Chinchilla, Goondiwindi, and Mount Isa will be closed.

  • VIC: Brandon Park will be closed, all other stores will be open.

  • SA: Firle, Tea tree, Munno Para, Ingle Farm, Kurralta Park, West Lakes, Port Noarlunga, Port Adelaide, Marion, and Churchill will be closed. All other stores will be open from 9am, except for Rundell Mall and Whyalla, who will be open from 11am.

  • NT: All stores open from 9am - 6pm. Katherine will close at 5pm.

  • WA: All stores open between 8am and 11am.

  • TAS: All stores will be trading from 8am, except Burnie who will open from 9am.

Target

  • NSW: All NSW stores will be closed except: Coffs Harbour, Erina, Port Macquarie, Tuggerah, Grafton, Golburn, Shell Harbour, and Broadway.

  • ACT: All will be trading from 10am - 5pm.

  • QLD: All stores will be open from 9am, with varying closing times from 4pm - 5pm.

  • VIC: All stores are open, opening times vary between 8am & 9am.

  • SA: All stores are closed except Centrepoint which is open from 11am - 5pm.

  • NT: All stores are closed on Easter Sunday.

  • WA: All will be trading from 11am - 5pm, with the exception of Mandurah who will open from 10am - 5pm.

  • TAS: All stores will be open from 10am - 5pm.

Westfield

  • NSW: Westfield Tuggerah will trade from 10am-5pm. All other NSW Westfield centres will be closed on Easter Sunday.

  • ACT: Westfield Belconnen and Woden will trade from 10am-4pm.

  • QLD: Westfield North Lakes, Garden City, Carindale and Chermside will trade from 10am-5pm. Westfield Coomera and Helensvale will trade from 10am-4pm.

  • VIC: Westfield Airport West, Doncaster, Fountain Gate, Geelong, Knox, Plenty Valley and Southland will trade from 10am-5pm.

  • SA: All SA Westfield centres will be closed on Easter Sunday.

  • WA: Westfield Booragoon, Carousel, Innaloo and Whitford City will trade from 11am-5pm.

Best&Less

  • NSW: Blacktown, Griffith, Leeton, Merrylands, Mt Druitt, Parramatta, Penrith Plaza, Seven Hills, Top Ryde, Wagga Wagga, Young, Bankstown, Fairfield, Hurstville, Miranda, Randwick, Roselands, Warringah Mall, Wetherill Park, Castle Hill, Central Bathurst, Dubbo, Macarthur Square, Minto, Mudgee, Narellan, Nowra, Orange, Rouse Hill, The Mall, Ulladulla, Wollongong, Cessnock, Charlestown, Glendale, Gosford, Greenhills, Gunnedah, Inverell, Maitland, Morisset, Raymond Terrace, Tamworth, Taree, Toronto, Broken Hill, Grafton, and Lismore will be closed. All other stores will be open.

  • ACT, QLD, VIC, SA, NT & TAS: All Best&Less stores will be open.

  • WA: All stores open with the exception of Albany which will be closed.

Other stores

  • Most Bunnings stores will be open on Easter Sunday. Some Bunnings stores in NSW will be closed in line with Easter Sunday Trading restrictions. Customers can check their local store online.

  • Most stores will be open at both BWS and Dan Murphy’s.

  • Big W trading hours vary, customers are encouraged to check their local store online for more information.

Easter Monday - April 18, 2022

Woolworths

  • NSW, VIC & ACT: All stores will be open, with most Metro stores opening.

  • QLD: All stores will be open, except Ayr, Blackwater, Bowen, Charters Towers, Childers, Chinchilla, Kingaroy, Mission Beach, Mount Isa, Pittsworth, Proserpine, Roma, and Weipa which are closed.

  • SA: Millicent will be closed, all other stores will be open.

  • NT & TAS: All stores open.

  • WA: All stores will be open, with the exception of Esperance and Katanning which will be closed.

Coles

  • NSW: All stores trading standard hours, excluding 10 stores whose hours are reduced for Easter Monday.

  • ACT, VIC & TAS: All stores trading standard hours.

  • QLD: All stores will be trading public holiday hours, except Ayr, Goondiwindi and Mount Isa who will be closed.

  • SA: Metro stores will be open from 11am - 5pm, Regional stores will be open from 8am - 8pm.

  • NT: All stores trading from 8am - 8pm, except Alice Springs who will be closing at 9pm.

  • WA: All Perth metro stores trading 8am - 6pm, with some regional stores trading varied hours.

Kmart

  • NSW: Most stores open between 8am and 9am. Trading hours for Yass, Tumut, Picton, Bowral, Bega, Ulladulla, Mudgee, Forbes, Katoomba and Windsor are 10am - 3pm.

  • ACT: All stores will be open from 8am - 8pm

  • QLD: Toombul, Charters Towers, Bowen, Ayr, Roma, Chinchilla, Goondiwindi, Mount Isa will be closed. All other stores open at 9am.

  • VIC: Brandon Park closed, all other stores open.

  • SA: Most stores open from 9am. 11am starts for Ingle Farm, Kurralta Park, West Lakes, Port Noarlunga, Firle, Tea Tree, Munno Para, Port Adelaide, Marion, Rundle Mall, Churchill

  • NT: All Kmart stores will be open from 9am.

  • WA: Esperance will be closed. Most other stores opening from 8am. Halls Head and Lakelands open at 10am, Eaton Fair will be opening from 7am, and Geraldton is opening at 11.

  • TAS: Devonport, Burnie & Rosny open from 8am, Newton & Launceston will be resuming 24hr trade.

Target

  • NSW: Most stores will be open from 9am. Cessnock, Taree and Grafton will open at 10am.

  • All Bunnings stores will be open on Easter Monday.

  • All BWS and Dan Murphy’s stores will be open on Easter Monday.

  • All Big W stores will be open, except for Big W Kingaroy which will be closed.

Aldi customers are encouraged to visit their local store via Aldi’s store finder to learn about individual trading hours over the Easter period.

IGA stores are scheduled to open the entire Easter weekend. As IGA stores are individually owned, customers are advised to double check their local store's hours via the IGA stores page.

Sydney Fish Market will be open on Good Friday from 5am to 5pm; and Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7am to 4pm.

All Australia Post outlets will be closed over the entire Easter period, with some licensed post offices and community postal agents potentially open. More information can be found on the Australia Post website.

Yahoo News reached out to Foodworks for clarification on opening times over the Easter period, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
