EastEnders confirms Pastor Clayton charges in Yolande story

The following article references sexual abuse and drug use.

EastEnders spoilers follow.

Yolande Trueman will receive important news about her criminal case against Pastor Clayton in upcoming EastEnders scenes.

With help from church elder Levi, Yolande recently made contact with a woman called Delia who accused the pastor of sexual assault in 2016.

While police declined to press charges for both women originally, Yolande and Delia hoped that they would reconsider if they came forward together.

Yolande's story will crossover with another issue-based plot next week, as she tries to help Denzel Danes with his body image issues.

Viewers have seen Denzel secretly abusing steroids in recent months, leaving him to neglect his family and ex-girlfriend Amy Mitchell as he devoted nearly all of his time to fitness training.

In scenes airing next week, Denzel is stressed following an angry voicemail from Avani Nandra-Hart and a tough conversation with Amy.

Denzel lies to Howie about going to school, before he starts experiencing alarming pain. When Amy tells Howie about Denzel skipping school, father and son have a heated row.

Denzel will also be angry about Amy going behind his back, though she's quick to give Denzel a reality check about the way he neglected their relationship.

This is where Yolande will offer to step in and speak to Denzel, after seeing how much Howie is struggling to get through to his son.

Yolande enlists Amy to help her speak with Denzel, yet he reacts angrily and accuses the pair of plotting behind his back.

In the middle of this disagreement, Yolande receives some incredible news from Levi that the police have decided to charge Pastor Clayton with two counts of sexual assault.

Denzel walks in on Yolande and Levi's conversation and wrongly assumes they are talking about him. Yolande thinks it's time to share what she's endured with Denzel by telling him the truth.

Yolande begs Denzel to accept her help, but will he agree?
