E-scooter rider injured in serious collision

An e-scooter rider has been taken to hospital following a serious collision on a major road.

Coronation Road, in Bristol, was closed following the incident at around 15:20 BST, but has since reopened.

The rider of the scooter, believed to be a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

The seriousness of his injuries is not yet known and Avon and Somerset Police said officers are working to trace his next of kin.

Enquiries into the cause of the crash are under way, with police urging anyone who saw the incident or may have dashcam footage to get in touch.
