DV accused man on the run in southern Qld

Police have swooped to protect those who made complaints about an alleged domestic violence offender who's has been on the run in southern Queensland for more than a day.

Clayton Alvoen, 28, was being escorted from court to the police watch house in Warwick when he allegedly headbutted an officer and fled about 2.30pm on Wednesday.

Police searched the area but were unable to find him.

They now suspect Alvoen may have been picked up and driven away by associates.

"Investigations have continued overnight and this morning with known associates and haunts for the man, with police appealing to the man, or anyone with him, to immediately contact them," officers said in a statement.

Alvoen had been in court for drug, assault, bail and domestic and family violence (D&FV) related charges.

"Police have taken all necessary action in relation to those involved in the D&FV matters," officers said.

Alvoen has a fair complexion, is about 180cm tall with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.

The headbutted officer was treated for a cut to his face at Warwick Hospital.
