Dude, where's your tinny?

A tinny has washed up on a Melbourne beach with fishing rods and bait after the owner tied it up but it appears to have been taken out for an unsolicited joy ride, police say.

Passers-by found the four-metre long aluminium tinny on Frankston Beach about 8.30am on Saturday after the owner tied it to a tree on Kananook Creek about lunchtime on Friday.

While no one has been reported missing, police think someone else used it and are searching the area for clues as to its overnight adventure.
