Driving instructor charged with sex crime

A Sydney driving instructor accused of trying to procure a 14-year-old girl for sex has been charged.

The 63-year-old Castle Hill man was arrested on Thursday after engaging in sexually explicit conversations with detectives posing as the teenager, police said.

During the weeks of conversations, the man allegedly made arrangements to meet the teenager in person before his arrest in Westmead and a police raid of his home that ended in the seizure of computers and electronic storage devices.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
