Driver dies in fireball crash on WA road

A man is dead after his car crashed into a tree and become a fireball in Western Australia.

Police believe the 2002 Holden Commodore was travelling south on Edward Rd in Bootenal, south of Geraldton, about 3.30am on Saturday when it left the road, hit a tree and caught fire.

The deceased is believed to be a man aged in his 20s and Major Crash Investigation officers are yet to determine the cause of the crash.
