Driver dies after crash that killed mum

A ute driver involved in a crash that killed a Melbourne mother and her unborn baby also died in hospital, police have revealed.

The 62-year-old Narre Warren North man was behind the wheel of the untility when it collided with an SUV on Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road in Pakenham South on the morning of February 4.

He was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries but police on Thursday confirmed he died on February 13.

Tess Clark, 34, was driving her two young sons to kindergarten at the time of the crash.

She also sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to hospital, where she died shortly after.

Her sons escaped the crash with minor injuries.
