Man dies after NSW motorcycle crash

A man has died after he hit a traffic sign pole while travelling in a motorcycle on the NSW south coast.

The 50-year-old male rider was approaching a bend on Parma Road at Yerriyong about 3pm on Wednesday when he hit the pole, NSW Police said in a statement.

He died at the scene.

Meanwhile, a man died and one of his passengers was seriously injured after the car they were travelling in ploughed into a tree near Wollongong on Tuesday evening.

The male motorist died at the scene and a second passenger was injured after the car left the road and slammed into the tree at Kanahooka, police said.
