Dramatic rescue after man gets his head stuck between train and platform
This is the moment a young man with his head stuck between a train and the platform is rescued by firefighters.
The incident occurred on a train in Argentina’s Merlo area, in the province of Buenos Aires.
The young man, identified as Jose Alejandro Centurion, 20, had been running off the moving train during a fight. He fell and became stuck between the gap between the train and the platform, according to local reports.
A video shows Mr Centurion with just his head poking out between the platform and the floor of the train.
His body is stuck below the platform as fire crews work to free his head and allow to him to escape.
The fire fighters push the train carriage away from the platform, while one of them waits below the train and catches Mr Centurion when he falls after being freed.
Incredibly, the operation reportedly lasted just 10 minutes.
German Freire, the officer in charge of the local fire department, told reporters there was no indication of how the young man managed to fall into the gap. Reports suggest had had been drinking alcohol before the fall.
Mr Centurion was reportedly transferred to hospital were it was confirmed that he had suffered minor injuries in the incident.
One person online said: “This is what happens when you are dumb, let’s see if he gets off a moving train again.”
