Dramatic moment schoolboy and dad are pulled from upturned car

A schoolboy and his father have been pulled from their upturned car following a dramatic crash.

Passing motorists ran to help after the car flipped onto its roof at Belair, in Adelaide’s foothills, during peak hour on Wednesday morning.

Frantically, they pulled the 11-year-old boy from the wreck before turning their attention to his dad, helping him to crawl out of the SUV.

The pair were comforted by witnesses before emergency services arrived.

“Everyone ran to help, we had people on the phone for emergency services straight away,” witness Rob Cant said.

“You just got straight into it, the adrenaline just kicked in.”

Good Samaritans also helped care for the other driver involved in the crash.

“I slammed on the brakes but it wouldn’t stop in time,” driver Lawrence Chan said.

The boy and his 44-year-old father were both taken to Flinders Medical Centre for a check-up.

Witnesses are amazed no one was seriously injured or even killed.

Investigators tested both drivers for drugs and alcohol. No charges have been laid at this stage, police said.
