Doyle still 'too ill' for misconduct probe

Melbourne's former lord mayor Robert Doyle remains too ill to respond to misconduct allegations dating from his past role as Melbourne Health chairman.

An investigation last month was unable to reach a conclusion on allegations Mr Doyle touched a woman's thigh and made inappropriate comments to her at a Melbourne Health awards ceremony in 2016, as he was too ill to respond to the claims.

In a statement this week, investigator Charles Scerri QC said the former mayor remained "medically unfit" to be interviewed, adding he would release a further detailed medical opinion in coming days.
