A woman in her 70s and a four-year-old girl have died following a two-car crash in northern NSW.
Emergency services were called to Thunderbolts Way, Nowendoc about 12:20pm on Saturday following reports a four-wheel-drive towing a camper trailer and sedan had collided.
The driver of the sedan and sole occupant, a woman aged in her 70s, died at the scene.
A four-year-old girl and passenger of the 4WD was treated at the scene by paramedics.
She was airlifted to hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival.
The driver of the 4WD, a 41-year-old man, and his passengers – a 48-year-old woman, two boys, aged nine and 11, and two-year-old girl – were all treated at the scene by police and NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital.
Officers from Oxley Police District and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Investigations are continuing.
