Domino's delivery driver's 'rude' act before handing over pizza

A Domino's delivery driver has been caught on camera asking for a tip before even handing the order to the customer.

The customer who posted the CCTV online captured the US delivery driver rocking up to the door and immediately saying "tip".

When the customer said no, the woman sarcastically pointed out that the homeowner "has a car", insinuating that she could've driven to pick up the pizza if she didn't want to tip.

However the customer comments that she is ordering delivery "for the convenience" and starts closing the door, saying "thank you, have a good day, take care".

But the clearly peeved off driver responds with "next time, come get it" before walking off to her car.

Social media users react to Domino's act online

Thousands reacted online to the video which has since been deleted, with the response being fairly mixed.

Some thought the customer was rude for not tipping, pointing out that it was snowing outside and the driver had therefore travelled in difficult conditions to get to the house, and deserves to be tipped.

"I can’t imagine not tipping the driver," one person said on Facebook.

While others thought the driver's attitude was not okay.

"I usually tip, but if they asked for it before handing over my food and even pointed out that I have a car and could of got it myself I definitely wouldn't of gave them anything," one person said.

"I'm sure she would have gotten a tip over the app if she was cool about it. I always tip but that delivery person was a bit rude," another said.

"I'm a delivery driver and never in a million years would I ever make a customer feel obligated to tip me," a third person said.

However many thought the situation highlighted a larger issue, which is that "the US doesn’t require liveable wages".

"Why not actually pay people a wage that doesn’t depend on whether they make a tip or not?" one person said on Facebook.
