Two suspended NSW police officers have had their case heard in Sydney's Local Court after being charged with attempted rape and the production of child abuse material.

Senior constables Angelo Franco Dellosa, 30, and James Delinicolis, 29, were suspended without pay following their arrests in western Sydney on August 5.

Dellosa was charged with aggravated sexual assault, attempted aggravated sexual assault in company and the production of child abuse material.

Delinicolis was charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault in company, the production of child abuse material and misconduct in public office.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred in or before June 2020.

Both men were excused from appearing in the Sydney Downing Centre on Thursday where their matter was relisted for charge certification on January 21, 2021.

Documents were sought from both parties and the Crown relating to the Ramada Hotel in Cabramatta, and the NSW Police Commission.

Deputy chief magistrate Michael Allen granted access for all parties to gain photocopy access within 72 hours.

Bail was originally denied following their arrest but was later granted and remains in place.
