'Disrespectful' model slammed for drinking beer out of didgeridoo
An adult entertainer in Perth has caused outrage after she was filmed downing a beer through a didgeridoo on Australia Day.
Footage uploaded on Instagram by model Cassy Walker shows a man pouring a bottled beer into an upturned didgeridoo before Bambi Le Fist sees it off amid laughter in the background.
After sinking the beverage, the self-proclaimed model then turns the camera and shouts: “Australia!”
A link to the post was shared to Facebook group Perth – Have A Whinge, with many users slamming the actions in the clip.
“How disrespectful. Shame that there’s so much ignorance behind this video,” one user said.
“The didgeridoo is a sacred instrument, it should never be used with such disrespect,” another wrote.
One outraged follower said: “Why whinge about ‘why cant everybody just celebrate together’ and then disrespect something extremely important to their culture and wonder why theres no moving forward?”
The didgeridoo is regarded as an integral part of Aboriginal culture with the traditional instrument, which dates back over 1000 years, still prominent in Indigenous life today.
