Diddy’s Alleged Drug Mule Gets Break in Case
Diddy’s alleged gun and drug “mule” has had his case dismissed against him after he completed a drug rehabilitation program to avoid jail time.
Brendan Paul, who was arrested at an airport in March while federal agents raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami Beach, had his felony charges for possession of cocaine and marijuana dropped against him, his lawyer confirmed to the New York Times Wednesday.
“Mr. Paul’s case was formally dismissed today — in its entirety,” Brian Bieber, Paul’s attorney, said in a statement.
In May, Paul, 25, began a six-month pretrial drug intervention program that let him avoid jail time. Miami-Dade County records show he completed the program earlier this month.
The former Syracuse University basketball player was first linked to Diddy when he was named in a February suit against the rapper. Rodney Jones Jr., a producer known as Lil Rod who worked on Diddy’s last album, called Paul a “mule” who transported guns and drugs for Diddy.
The suit alleged that Paul “procured, transported and distributed ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, mushrooms and tuci by packing these substances in their carry-on luggage and going through TSA.” It also claimed that Paul was required “to carry [Diddy’s] firearm on their person whenever they went out.”
Paul’s lawyer did not respond to questions from The New York Times about the allegations in Jones Jr.’s suit.
Diddy was arrested in September on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, and is in jail awaiting trial.
