Police have found a tragic note after a two-week-old baby boy was abandoned in a shoebox in a park.

The child was found in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires after police received an anonymous tip-off in the early hours of the morning.

Officers then found the newborn baby wrapped in sheets in the box with some nappies.

The baby was also left with a note that read: “My name is Bryan Samuel. I was born on the 25th of January 2021. I can't keep him, whoever finds him please look after him. I only ask for forgiveness.”

The two-week-old was subsequently transferred to Larcade Hospital where he is being looked after and has been provisionally named 'Marco'.

The hospital said that Marco weighs 2.8kgs and does not show any signs of illness.

A hospital spokesperson told local media that the baby is “very calm, sleeps without issue and sucks on his dummy like any other baby”.

To date, no family members have come forward to claim little Marco and the police are currently investigating the abandonment of the minor.

Marco's story is not uncommon, and only the day before the police found another abandoned baby in the Tres de Febrero neighbourhood of Buenos Aires.
