Desperate woman asks for advice after finding crocodile in her pool
A north Queensland woman awoke with a fright this morning to find a crocodile taking a dip in her backyard pool.
The displaced reptile baffled Margie Ryder, who had no idea what to do with the croc in her in-ground pool at Tully Heads, south of Innisfail.
After leaving an after-hours message for the Department of Environment and Science (DES), Ms Ryder turned to the Facebook brains trust for advice.
“Hi I have a crocodile in my pool at Tully heads,” she wrote this morning.
“Can anyone tell me what to do who to call.”
Many responded to the concerned resident’s post advising her to contact the DES, which she had already done.
“We had one in our yard a few years ago. We had to call the EPA and they sent someone from Townsville to grab it,” one woman wrote.
As the temperature sat at 31 degrees, one woman wrote: “I guess he’s feeling the heat too.”
Others couldn’t resist making light of the situation.
“Whatever you do, don’t smile,” one joked, referencing the classic children’s song.
Another offered this pearl of wisdom: “Maybe check the pool before you jump in.”
The DES was on its way to the woman’s home, according to an update in the thread just after 10am local time.
Yahoo7 News has contacted Ms Ryder to find out the latest on the croc relocation exercise, but has not heard back as yet.
