Desperate search for elderly man who wandered off in his PJs

Police are desperately searching for a missing 86-year-old man who wandered off in his pyjamas and spent a night missing in -1.4 degree Celsius weather.

Victorian man Thomas Alexander Thompson went missing near Bright, four hours north-east of Melbourne, while wearing dark coloured pyjamas and work boots.

The 86-year-old was last seen walking south on Iarias Lane, towards the Bright State Forest at about 9.15am on Tuesday.

Mr Thompson is 175-178cm tall with a slim build with greying hair and walks with a stoop.

He might go to the Anglican Church on Station Street or the Lions Club shed at the football ground in Pioneer Park, police said.

The Bright Local Police will recommence their search for Mr Thompson on Wednesday morning, a Victoria Police spokeswoman told Yahoo7.

Mr Thompson’s family holds grave concerns for his welfare, due to his age.
