A desperate search for a missing Sydney schoolboy continues after he vanished on Wednesday afternoon.
Christopher Wilson, 11, was last seen getting off his school bus on Annangrove Road in Annangrove, 40km northwest of Sydney's CBD, at 3.20pm on Wednesday.
NSW Police say a full scale search will recommence at 8am on Thursday morning.
There are grave concerns for the boy's welfare as temperatures dropped to 4C overnight.
Police say his disappearance is "out of character" and he is believed to have no money or food with him.
Superintendent Darrin Batchelor said there was no indication at this stage as to where he is.
He urged for homeowners in the area to search their properties.
Christopher was wearing his school uniform – a blue t-shirt with maroon and white trim.
A sighting of the schoolboy on Annangrove Road over an hour after alighting the bus indicates he was also wearing a black and white jacket.
A woman believed to be a family member of Christopher pleaded for his safe return on Facebook.
"Please come home Christopher, we are all very worried," she said.
Christopher is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 120cm tall with a slim build, short brown hair and brown eyes.
Police on the ground have been visiting nearby properties while a search via air is underway.
Anyone with information regarding Christopher’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
