People Are Hilariously Reacting To This Shocking Presidential Poll Out Of Iowa
Everyone (or at least the terminally online and politically obsessed) is talking about a poll out of Iowa.
Ann Selzer is a prominent and highly respected pollster. FiveThirtyEight even called her the most respected pollster in politics!
Well, Ann just released her final presidential poll from Iowa and she has Kamala Harris with 47% of the vote to Donald Trump's 44%.
These numbers are especially surprising considering how RED Iowa has become in the past few election cycles. President Biden lost Iowa to Trump by nearly 9 points.
FWIW, Selzer has an excellent track record for polling accuracy, and Cook Report analyst Matthew Klein noted how consistently she has performed since 2012:
Final Selzer poll findings (and the actual result)2022 Senate: R+12 (R+12)2020 President: R+7 (R+8)2020 Senate: R+4 (R+7)2018 Governor: D+2 (R+3)2016 President: R+7 (R+9)2014 Senate: R+7 (R+8)2012 President: D+5 (D+6)About as good as any pollster gets. https://t.co/OfFO6ePDLy

She was among the only pollsters to predict Trump's 2016 win.
Selzer correctly identified late movement to Trump in 2016 and went against the grain in 2020 by finding Trump up solidly in Iowa, along with Joni Ernst.

"The BIG thing Ann Selzer is famous for is consistently producing surprising Iowa poll results, many times incompatible with other polling - and being correct," said this election enthusiast.
For the newer members of Election Twitter, some context:The BIG thing Ann Selzer is famous for is consistently producing surprising Iowa poll results, many times incompatible with other polling - and being correct.A streak stretching nearly unbroken to at least back to 2008.
