Terrifying video shows truck collide with car - but who was in the wrong?

Footage of a truck veering into the side of a car when trying to merge lanes has divided opinion on social media.

Heart-stopping dashcam video uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia's Facebook page on Wednesday shows the moment the truckie indicates to move into an already occupied area of a right lane on an unidentified road on March 29.

Despite the car refusing to make room for the truck, it still tries shifting lanes, resulting in a dangerous collision.

The truck skids across the road as it connects with the front of the car, ripping off a part of the bumper in the process.

After forcing its way into the flow of traffic, it continues driving as if nothing has happened.

"The law says you can’t change lanes till it’s safe," one user said in defence of car's motorist.

"The law doesn’t say you have to slam your brakes on to let f***tards in who think they have a right to change lanes by putting their blinker on."

But others suggested there was more to the incident than meets the eye, with the car purposely trying to keep the truck out of the right lane.

"Pretty sure the car break checks the truck as you can tell in the video and then begins to speed up as soon as he sees the indicator come on," another user said in defence of the truck driver.

According to Dash Cam Owners Australia, the video was sent to police and the truck driver was charged with negligent driving.
