Dashcam captures horrific moment schoolgirl hit by motorbike

Police have released distressing video of a teenage girl being wiped out by a motorbike rider who left her on the road and fled the scene.

The 13-year-old schoolgirl was captured on dashcam footage waiting for traffic to pass at about 3.30pm on Nicholson Street in South Kempsey, on the NSW Mid North Coast, on Monday.

From behind a motorbike rider was shown speeding down the footpath before swerving onto the road and knocking her to the bitumen. The rider also fell off the bike.

Within seconds, the motorcyclist picked the bike up and sped away from the scene.

The young girl was fortunately not seriously hurt, but sustained minor injuries including a laceration to one of her arms.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Detectives on Thursday released CCTV vision in an appeal to identify the rider involved.

The motorcycle is described as possibly being a Honda KTM, while the rider was described as wearing a dark hooded jacket and dark coloured pants and black joggers.

He was wearing a blue and white helmet at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the rider’s identity has been urged to come forward.
