Daniel Craig has said he prefers going to gay bars because of the “aggressive d*** swinging in hetero bars”.

The James Bond actor, 53, said he started visiting gay nightspots when he was younger because he felt they were safer and he wanted to avoid getting into any hassle.

“I’ve been going to gay bars for as long as I can remember,” he said on the Lunch With Bruce podcast.

“One of the reasons - because I don’t get into fights in gay bars that often.”

He went on: “The aggressive d*** swinging in hetero bars I just got very sick of as a kid, because it was like... ‘I don’t want to end up leaving in a punch-up.’ And I did. That would happen quite a lot.

"And it would just be a good place to go.”

“Everybody was chill, everybody,” he went on.

“You didn’t really have to sort of state your sexuality, it was OK.

"And it was a very safe place to be.”

“I could meet girls there, because there are a lot of girls there for exactly the same reason that I was there,” he shared.

“It was kind of an ulterior motive.”

Craig and Weisz tied the knot in 2011 and welcomed a daughter together in 2018.
