When one fan posted a message on Twitter asking if Walker had taken some time off to prepare for his upcoming turn on the Strictly dancefloor, he tweeted: “Back soon.

“Just spending some time with the family.”

The TV star later revealed that he and his wife and three children had been having some down time at the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Sutton Coldfield.

He tweeted: “Lovely few days away at @TheBelfryHotel.

“Amazing place, the kids loved it & the poached eggs were (trophy emoji).

"We also visited @blistshill Victorian Town which was brilliant. Anyone been?

"I did lose crazy golf to Mrs Walker but we’ll be back."

He added: "P.S. not an ad, we just had a nice time."

As well as getting back to work, Walker is set to start rehearsing for Strictly 2021.

It was revealed earlier this month that the TV star had joined the line-up and he has admitted to being "genuinely terrified".

Speaking when the news was announced, Walker said he was “definitely excited, a little bit worried, mostly terrified" and added that "a small part of me is considering going into hiding".
