Dad's extraordinary efforts to spend Christmas with daughter who had to work

A devoted dad has spent Christmas in the sky with his flight attendant daughter who had to work over the festive period.

Flight attendant Pierce Vaughan, from the US, had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but her father was determined to keep her company over the festive period.

Her father Hal Vaughan bought a ticket on all of her flights over both days, so that she wouldn’t be alone on Christmas.

The act of festive cheer was shared by a passenger who sat next to Mr Vaughan on Christmas eve.

“I had the pleasure of sitting next to Hal on my flight back home,” US man Mike Levy posted on Facebook on December 24 from Detroit airport in the country’s mid west.

“His daughter Pierce was our flight attendant who had to work over Christmas.

“Hal decided he would spend the holiday with her.

“He is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas.

“What a fantastic father! Wish you both a very Merry Christmas!”

Ms Vaughan posted about the family reunion on Christmas day.

“Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success!” Ms Vaughan posted on Facebook on December 25.

“A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew.
