Badly injured, he tried to flee but was stabbed twice more and died from his wounds at a neighbour's house before help could arrive.

When police seized the suspect, he had the knife believed to have been used in the attack in his hand.

Neighbours revealed that the family often fought and said it was not the first time the father had accused his son of having an affair with his partner.

The suspect is said to have a long criminal record and was reportedly on drugs at the time of the killing.

"The perpetrator of the crime was carrying the knife used in the crime," Corporal Knoll of the Military Police told local media.

"He was approached by the team and offered no resistance. He was confused, reported that he had used cocaine and had confused ideas."

He allegedly expressed remorse for what he had done at the police station.

Civil Police will investigate the case.
