Dad and son's surprising find in car exhaust pipe
A Northern Territory father and son duo got an unexpected shock as they drove to the local pub for a refreshing ale.
Eighteen-year-old Bailey Peck and his father Patrick Tauariki were looking forward to a cold one when they noticed something odd dangling from the exhaust pipe of the car in front of them.
Pulling up behind the car, they realised that what they were seeing was part of a snake’s blackened body.
“I’d just flown back from the mines and we were going to the pub for a few,” Bailey told Yahoo7 News.
“We didn’t know what it was at first, so we pulled up and had a proper look and realised it was a snake.
“The people in the other car didn’t want to touch it.”
Bailey said the fact that the snake was already dead didn’t stop anyone from feeling nervous about extracting it.
“My Dad kinda wanted me to do it but I had all my nice clothes on and I’m a bit afraid of snakes so we were arguing about who would do it,” Bailey said.
“We don’t know what type of snake it was but it was skinny and long. As Dad was pulling it out, it kind of stretched and then the whole thing just flew out at once.”
“Holy hell!,” a woman can be heard exclaiming as Patrick removes the snake’s body using a pair of thongs.
“It’s a big one,” another shocked onlooker can be heard saying.
Bailey said no-one was quite sure what to do with the deceased reptile, so they left it on the side of the road and continued on to the pub, where they had an unexpected story to tell.
