Dad shares heartwarming memories with daughter found dead on Queensland beach

The father of slain Queensland woman Toyah Cordingley has shared touching photos of himself and his daughter dressed in costume to attend the movies.

Troy Cordingley wrote a heartfelt post on Wednesday to a Facebook page dedicated to honouring his late daughter, who he found dead on Wangetti Beach, 40km north of Cairns, last year.

Toyah, aged 24 at the time, was reported missing on October 21 after taking her dog for a walk. She was discovered lifeless the following morning.

Her father has continued to be closely involved in the ongoing investigation into her death, and shares frequent updates and tributes to the social media page.

“Sometimes, Toyah and I would 'dress up just for fun'. Example, she took me to see The Dark Crystal on the big screen for a retro night,” Mr Cordingley wrote.

“I bought us elf ears, she bought 'fake eyelash glue' to stick them on with. Comedy ensued. We went to 'Batman vs Superman' in our 'fav' shirts etc.”

He said he would be dressing up in her honour this week.

“This Sunday, in Kuranda, I shall dress up again. She will be with me.”

Toyah worked as a pharmacy assistant and animal refuge worker before she was brutally killed.
