WARNING - DISTRESSING DETAILS: A 20-year-old father has been accused of stepping his newborn baby's head and biting her while allegedly high on drugs.
Triston Dishon Sanders, from the US state of Arizona, allegedly placed his one-month-old daughter on a table, where she fell about five feet.
The police said the child was taken to Thunderbird Banner Hospital.
Tests showed she suffered a bilateral skull fracture and haemorrhage, she had broken blood vessels in her eye, a bump to the side of her head and a bite mark in her abdominal area, Fox 10 Phoenix reported.
Sanders was interviewed by police, where he admitted he was high on acid at the time.
He also admitted to leaving his month-old daughter on the dining table unsupervised, stepping on her head and biting her.
According to Fox 10, a third party reported the incident to the police.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office public records show he was arrested on three counts of crimes against children.
Bail has been set at $10,000 ($A13,229), KOLD News 13 reported and Sanders is currently in jail.
Fox 10 reported a preliminary hearing is set for later in April.
