Baker's day ruined after Crocs send cakes crashing to floor
'If you're having a bad Monday, it can't be worse than mine,' baker Isabel Maidens said.
Watch: Baker brings seven trays of cakes crashing to floor after shoe gets wedged under trolley
We've all suffered moments at work we'd rather forget, but at least baker Isabel Maidens was able to see the funny side of a mishap that left a day's worth of baking splattered on her kitchen floor.
Maidens, who runs the Isabakes bakery in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, posted CCTV footage to social media showing her trying to push a cart packed with treats across the kitchen.
Unfortunately for Maidens, one of her Crocs gets jammed underneath a wheel, causing the trolley to jolt and send seven trays sliding off their shelves towards her.
She's shown valiantly attempting to grab the baked treats as they crash down around her, before leaving a big chocolatey mess on the floor.
Accepting defeat, Maidens, who set up the bakery in June 2020, is left standing with her right hand firmly planted against her forehead and only one shoe on as she stares at her hard day's work.
Determined to make the most of the embarrassing incident of 23 September, Maidens posted a video of the accident on her bakery's Instagram and TikTok accounts – fetching over 450,000 views.
Her Instagram post said: "If you're having a bad Monday, it can't be worse than mine. [This is] all my bakes I'd spent the day making!!!! We go again."
One user said the Crocs "need sacking immediately", while a second joked: "Note to self - don't wear Crocs to work."
