A nurse in full protective gear is set to board a bulk carrier in Western Australia's Geraldton Port to swab a crew member who has shown symptoms of coronavirus.
The carrier Key Integrity arrives in the port from Manila on Saturday morning and the test result will be fast-tracked, WA Health said in a statement on Friday night.
It said none of the other 19 crew members were reporting any symptoms and the crew member was isolating in his cabin.
"The Department of Health would like to reassure the Geraldton community they are not at risk. The Key Integrity will remain berthed and no crew will disembark."
WA Health said an outbreak team was on standby and working closely with the local health service.
