Could Aaron Rodgers still land 'Jeopardy!' job after host Mike Richards' resignation?
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers insisted Friday that he legitimately would have taken the job hosting “Jeopardy!” had it been offered to him earlier this summer.
While that would have undoubtedly been tough scheduling-wise — as the reigning league MVP is getting ready to enter his 17th season this fall — Rodgers told Mad Dog Sports Radio’s Adam Schein that he wasn’t worried about the conflicts.
The longtime "Jeopardy!" fan was more than willing to make it work.
“Yeah, I definitely would have [taken the job],” Rodgers said. “I mean, if they would’ve figured out a way to make it work with my schedule, yeah for sure.”

Aaron Rodgers could still host ‘Jeopardy!’
While Rodgers’ comments don’t mean much now, as he wasn’t offered the job, they are certainly more interesting after Alex Trebek’s replacement stepped down on Friday.
Mike Richards was appointed as Trebek’s replacement on the game show last week, something that was widely seen as controversial. A report in The Ringer earlier this week, however, unveiled past offensive and sexist comments Richards had made on a podcast. The report also detailed lawsuits he was involved in during his time as an executive producer on “The Price Is Right.”
Richards stepped down on Friday, saying that staying in the role “would be too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right move for the show.” He will stay on as an executive producer.
So, for now, the search for a permanent host continues. “The Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik will remain as the host of “Jeopardy!” prime-time specials, but the show will continue on using guest hosts until it can find a new full-time host.
Rodgers had served a stint as a guest host on the show earlier this summer, and was a big hit.
“That was so much fun. That was just so much fun. I spent a lot of time studying and getting ready for it. I definitely wanted it, was interested in finding a way to make it work with my schedule and their schedule and filming," Rodgers said. "But I had such a blast. I mean I have zero regrets with how it all went. It was such a special environment.”
Whether he still wants the hosting job, however, remains to be seen.
