Costco Recalls Kirkland Signature Eggs for Potential Salmonella
The eggs were sent to Costco stores in five states.
Costco shoppers who recently bought Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs sold under the Kirkland Signature brand name should check their refrigerators. Handsome Brook Farms, which produces the eggs for Costco, is voluntarily recalling 10,800 retail units due to them having the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.
The eggs were distributed to 25 Costco stores in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, beginning Nov. 22, 2024. According to a company announcement, Handsome Brook Farms initiated the recall “after the company determined that eggs not intended for retail distribution were instead packaged and distributed in retail packaging."
This comes after the Food and Drug Administration changed ongoing egg recalls to Class I, which is the most serious type. No illnesses linked to the Kirkland eggs have been reported at the time of this writing.
How to Determine If Your Costco Eggs Have Been Recalled
