Coroner reveals Aussie Instagram model's cause of death on Greek yacht


The body of an Australian woman who died while working on a superyacht in Greece is on its way home to Australia.

Sinead McNamara, 20, was found tangled in rope at the back of the yacht in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The model and Instagram star had been working as a crew member on the Mayan Queen IV for several months.

A coroner has found that Ms McNamara, from Port Macquarie in New South Wales, died as a result of hanging.

According to media reports, she died as she was being airlifted to hospital.

Two weeks before her death, the model shared a cryptic message on Instagram below a picture of herself riding a quad bike along a Greek cliffside in June.

“My head is all over the shop,” she wrote alongside the image.

“Take me back to this, where my only worry was not cracking my skull open.”

The exact circumstances surrounding her death remain a mystery.
