Coronavirus: Kmart and Apple stores linked to Sydney cases

A number of Sydney businesses including an Apple store and a Kmart are being deep cleaned after a shopper tested positive for coronavirus.

There were three more positive cases of coronavirus confirmed in NSW on Tuesday.

NSW Health have warned a shopper who visited an Apple and Kmart store at Broadway Shopping Centre in Ultimo, in Sydney’s inner city, on Saturday has tested positive for COVID-19.

They were in both stores between 3.30pm and 5pm.

“Any customer who visited these stores during this time should monitor their health and if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms, get tested immediately and self-isolate,” Broadway wrote on Facebook.

“Apple and Kmart are tonight undertaking deep cleaning and working with NSW Health to ensure all other required actions are taken to maintain our community's safety.”

The shopping centre has also undergone a deep clean.

NSW Health is also testing two cases of COVID-19 who went to City Tattersalls Fitness Centre on Pitt Street last week.

The two people went to the gym on August 19, 21 and 23.

People who visited 300 George Street on August 19, 20, 21 or 24 are being told to watch for symptoms too after a positive case worked in the building while contagious.

Three Sydney schools will also remain closed for deep cleaning on Wednesday.

Riverstone High School, Wyndham College in Quakers Hill and Schofields Public School, all in Sydney’s northwest, will all have students moved to online learning for the day.

All three schools are being cleaned after a suspected case went on campus.

The tests are yet to be confirmed as positive though with the cleaning and closure of all three schools precautionary.
