Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Chesney Winter-Brown will be left feeling upset next week as the Joseph storyline continues.

Chesney's son Joseph has recently begun attending private school after the youngster's maternal grandmother Linda Hancock offered to pay his tuition fees. However, it's caused issues as Linda and Joseph have tried to hide Chesney and Gemma's home life from his new posh friends.

In scenes set to air across Tuesday, June 18, Wednesday, June 19, and Friday, June 21, Chesney and Gemma tell Bernie that the boiler in No 5 is broken beyond repair.

They call the landlord over, and he tells them that he wants a second opinion before replacing it. But days later, Gemma has been unable to get hold of him.

Chesney says he'll install an electric shower, as it's cheaper, while Dee-Dee Bailey tells Gemma that the landlord can be fined if reported for failing to carry out essential work.

Meanwhile, Chesney sees that Joseph has been dropped off from school by the mum of his posh friend Olly, and he is saddened to hear that Joseph has been telling people that he runs a major catering empire.

Will he have a word with Joseph about his lying?

ITV's soap boss Iain MacLeod explained that this story is set to be a long-runner, and he hopes that it comes across as featuring realistic family dynamics.

"I hope it's one of those stories where you'll watch it and recognise the down-to-earth family drama from things in your own family. It feels brilliantly close to home," he said.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
