Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Billy Mayhew will turn violent with Paul Foreman's friend in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
The soap has lined up an explosive storyline for Tuesday, February 13's episode revolving around Valentine's Day as Billy struggles with recurring back pain.
He explains to Summer that he will press on with planning a special Valentine's Day despite his pain, including gifting Paul a new bike with a sidecar.
Billy can barely get through the romantic night, as he downs painkillers before heading out to the Bistro to meet up with Paul.
The day goes from bad to worse when Paul recognises a former schoolmate, Benno, and his rowdy friends making a scene in the Bistro.
Billy tries not to let the interruption get the better of him since he has lined up a barbershop quarter to surprise Paul with a performance.
However, Benno soon causes more trouble when he tries to force Paul to dance, leading Billy to punch Paul's former friend in a moment of anger.
Billy has been under intense pressure in recent weeks as he's grappled with his decision to help Paul end his life with dignity at some point in the future.
Off screen, cast member Daniel Brocklebank has participated in Coronation Street's collaboration with the Motor Neurone Disease Association on an advertising campaign airing during the soap.
Ads combining the major events in Paul's journey with stories of real people impacted by the disease will air throughout the MND storyline.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
Coronation Street has been working on Paul's storyline with support from the MND Association, which focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for people affected by motor neurone disease.
