Convicted wife killer Gerard Baden-Clay's new job behind bars

A convicted wife killer has a new paid job behind bars in Queensland.

Former real estate agent Gerard Baden-Clay is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife, Allison, who disappeared from the family’s Brookfield home in 2012.

The murderer recently moved into a new unit at  Wolston Correctional Centre, in Brisbane’s southwest.

It is the same prison unit that houses Daniel Morcombe’s killer  Brett Peter Cowan.

Baden-Clay has now become a paid carer looking after prisoners with mental health issues and disabilities, 7News was told.

His job includes helping inmates to dress, eat and go to the toilet.

Staff say they suspect he transferred there because it is an easier unit to be in.

Baden-Clay is still wearing his wedding ring behind bars,  7News reported.
